モード変更するとステータスバーの位置が上に戻る

環境設定でステータスバーを「表示しない」または「下に配置」にしていても、モード変更すると「上に配置」に戻ってしまう。
あと、いまさらですが、ヘルプに左上のモード変更のボタン（正式名はなんでしょう？）について、記述がないようです。
