I use Sierra ver 10.12.6
The drop drown menu I’m referring to is at the top of the program under selected. It’s the one under extrude faces and above move faces to a new object. For now, I an making sure I stay away from th4 center point to make sure I don’t mashed together.

Good news.... I figured out how to stop my issue being stuck in mirror mode. The button sym wass active. I turned it off and it stopped.
